The Contender is to jump start a unknown to a somebody now it all depends on how you use the show as an learning experience look at Gomez for example if it wasnt for the contender he would not had beaten Gatti. Is all on how make that transition after the show ends

Gomez struggling to beat a shot Gatti isn't really an achievement to bolster your credentials is it?
The contender isn't really about Boxing is it?
It is more like a Drama series.
A watered down version of Boxing for the masses and women.
The show follows a format and half of the stories of these guys and their "Struggles" makes me want to puke more than anything.
