How tough is Mikkel Kessler ?

To be honest, I have only one Kessler fight and that was against Andrade and I was very impressed, but his chin and heart were never really tested in that fight. I am a pretty big fan of Calzaghe and I am pulling for him to win win this fight. My question is how good is Kessler's chin and has his heart ever really been tested ?

Kessler is going to win, even though I want Calzaghe to win. Kessler is underrated. I find Calzaghe to be more entertaining to watch. Kessler is too young for Calzaghe, lacy was an idiot when going into the fight against Calzaghe. Kessler is no idiot.

The only real advantages Mikkel has over Joe are youth and power. Other than that Calzaghe has his card in terms of experience, speed, combinations, ring intelligence, etc... I'm banking on Calzaghe but I've only seen a small handful of Kessler fights, none of which particularly impressed me aside from the fight against Librado Andrade.

Calzaghe has quick hands, heart, volume, sturdiness, left wings in the clinches etc but he's not really in Kessler's league to be honest

I see Calzaghe squaring up and being ****** with Kessler's right hand with his chin up in the air, I see Calzaghe falling forward as he does and being picked off with compact combinations with his swings blocked on Kessler's back foot, and I see Calzaghe looking at the canvas as he throws punches with Kessler's textbook left hook finding the mark followed by a hard right hand to stun Joe up

Youth makes a huge difference in this sport. And kessler is good, if Calzaghe does beat Kessler. Calzaghe should be known as a legend in this sport then. People don't understand how good Kessler really is. Jeff lacy only had like half the fights Calzaghe had when they fought, but Kessler has almost as many fights as Calzaghe does.

No idea how tough Kessler is as nobody has stuck it to him , Joe might be the one to answer your question or he might not , Kessler is untested in this area .

Calzaghe is the power puncher in this fight but he has no ring intelligence. Kessler has better ring generalship and is a far better technician. He has neater, harder combinations than Calzaghe too and I'll say more accurate as well because he won't let combinations go that hit thin air (as Joe does so often)...

The only real impression I've gotten of Kessler was that he was semi-robotic. I really need to hit up youtube for more of his fights.

He's robotic kind of, but thats not a bad thing. His style is similar to wlad klitshko's except a faster wlad of course since he is in a lighter weight class. Thats why I don't think Calzaghe can beat him. And Kessler has a chin wlad really doesn't. Thats no offense to the topic creators screenname, cause wlads a good boxer but his chin will always have a question mark on it. I think it might be glass
