Floyd started to land right hands over the top of the jab then Oscar stopped throwing it
Not really. That had been done before but Oscar kept throwing the jab. Floyd's counters in round 8 were no more special or furious than rounds 1-7, but for some reason Oscar stopped throwing. In any case, Oscar could have won if he had stuck with the jab. For fear of lack of stamina is one of the reason Oscar let up...lack of confidence...contentment with his current effort, as well as, yes, Floyd Mayweather throwing the occasional right-hand counter.

But, B. Jes., you know as well as I that Oscar was competely gassed in the last few rounds of that fight. Floyd stayed away and was content to go for the decision. This was one reason for all the damn booing. I think you and I must disagree as to the conclusion that Oscar sought to avoid Floyd's power. Objectively, I just didn't see it that way. And, with respect to Baldomir, at the end of the fight Baldo just basically stood in the middle of the ring and challenged Floyd to fight. Floyd didn't, for good reason. I don't hold refusing to go toe to toe with Baldo against Floyd. Going for the decision with Baldo was just a good business decision. But, I cannot agree with anybody that uses the ODH and Baldo fight as examples of the effectiveness of Floyd's power. I'll admit that Floyd is not "featherfisted", but he's not overpowering at all. Not even close. Oh well. Cheers.

Maybe , respect your opinion but that ones gone , anyway I thought the weight difference was the big thing in that fight and even his knockers should realize no other fighter in the world could give Oscar 14 lbs and win , the weight or lack off will make a lot off difference to Floyds strength and punching power in Dec because with Ricky it will be double impact as Hatton will come on to everything .

In regards to fighting a squared up fighter like Hatton Floyd is not nailed to the floor like KT was and Floyd can fight going backwards as good as on the front foot something else Kostya could not do and the reason Hatton and Phillips beat him ,,Floyd is waaaay different he has movement and speed that Ricky has never came close to seeing.
            I think so too.

Not to mention, Floyd's going to have that "...more exciting than Floyd's whole career" playing in his head during the whole fight.

I think many Hatton fans are just hoping for that to be the case. Floyd standing in and taking the fight to Hatton gives Ricky his greatest opportunity. No....don't bet on it. Floyd will get on his bike rather quickly I suspect. The question is how will the crowd and the judges view this? IMO, the aggressor will be rewarded in this fight, and that aggressor will be Ricky Hatton. This is exactly why a decision in favor of Hatton is a reasonable bet.

All of this, and Oscar still had the advantage in height, reach, weight, glove make and model, ring size....

                    .....AAAAAAnnnd a guaranteed $25 million to Floyd's $10 mil.
