    Pavlik-Taylor Rematch Likely To Land on PPV

    As previously reported, a rematch between WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik (32-0, 29KOs) and former champion Jermain Taylor (27-1-1, 17KOs), has to take place before the end of February. [details]

    Bah. I guess they have to, but this is the type of fight that would be a ratings bonanza on regular HBO but a very possible PPV bust. They should put it on HBO so the Pavlik-Hopkins fight is big enough to justify PPV.

      And if Taylor wins, then what? A rubbermatch on PPV too? Probably not...I would guess Taylor vs. Cal/Kessler winner on PPV next summer.

        PPVs are whats ****in up boxing..this was a great fight and even my teacher,the basketball coach, was talkin about it to me..they should just leave it on free HBO

            His HOPKINS fight should definetly be his first fight on PPV IMO

              Yeah, I think it's a bad choice to have him headline a PPV already. I doubt this will do 200,000 buys. Pavlik is known to the boxing public, but not really the general public. He will not make people buy the PPV, and Taylor is still in the ****s with most people still.

                I knew this was coming. Good for him, bad for us.

                I hate PPV, but I guess until boxing can attract the advertisers this is what we are going to have.
