Byrd Feels Experience Will Beat Povetkin

Chris Byrd (43-3, 21KOs) certainly has guts. The former champ is past his prime and heads to the heart of Germany on Saturday to face unbeaten Alexander Povetkin (13-0, 10KOs) in Erfurt. The fight was put together as part of an IBF elimination tournament that leads to a title shot against Wladimir Klitschko. Before either of them gets a shot at Klistchko, the winner would first have to face the winner of Calvin Brock and Eddie Chambers, taking place on Nov. 2 [details]

Povetkin is going to win this in my opinion.
Either by decision or late stoppage.
One thing you can't question is Povetkins progress so far.
Much better than a lot of prospects records these days.
New blood is what is needed so the Povetkin win is good for the game.

....I think it's more just plain ******ity and pride that may end up getting him killed. Pride is what made him fight Wlad the second time and that same pride now has him fighting a young dangerous heavy, in order to fight another young dangerous heavy, in order to get his ass kicked again by Wlad. Balls?? No ******ity??? Oh hell yes.

.....But look what he gets as a reward if he does win. He gets to fight Brock and then if he beats him he gets to get his ass kicked by Wlad again.
