I'm new to this site so please explain all the hate???

Can anyone explain why there is some much hate for Ricky Hatton or for that matter Floyd Mayweather.

I mean this is going to one of the biggest fights of the decade and yet many on here cannot help themselves???

I'm British and obviously like Hatton but I understand his flaws and accept them, he is a messy fighter but exciting and has a none stop style that keeps you glued to his fights. Outside the ring he is an approachable, respectful and likable guy. How can he be hated?

Mayweather based on my limited knowledge of the guy is flashy, brash and a bit arrogant but there is no getting away from his immense talent and ability.
Others in the past have had similar traits I recall Ali hitting a toy gorilla in the lead up to a Foreman fight etc so again why all the hate. for this particular guy?

This has the potential to be an all time great fight.

I think some people seem threatened by criticism of a fighter they like, so they go on the attack.

I can understand that but scrolling through this site there seems to be dozens of threads dedicated to attacking a certain fighter?

Everyone has an opinion but there is no rationale behind it?

It's got completely out of hand.
I think people find PBF classless in the way he insults people he say's it like he means it. But Ali while also saying some tasteless things said them with a smile and most people realized he never meant it thus it was more accepted. Although he was hated by a lot of people at the time, partly because he was the first to do it and people were not sure to make of it. Ha Ha It sounds like I'm contradicting myself.

There is nothing you can do...

there is to much bad blood between Hattonites and PBF'ers.

As there was too much bad blood between Hoya-rists and PBF'ers.

These hatred threads are what keep the post counts up, and the ad revenues coming in.

Some people seem to take Criticisim of their favorite fighter as an ATTACK on themselves.. and respond accordingly...
Its ****ing sad really.. It shows how lost and insecure some people are..
In Floyd's case.. some of his "fans" remind me of Religious Zealots.. Which shows .. if they are filling up the spiritual void in their life with a Boxer who lacks certain social graces.. Just how sad they truly are..

Its become almost like a pantomime and people boo because someone is portrayed as a baddie.

Hatton is a good guy who comes to fight, Mayweather is flashy and brash but can back it up with ability.

The bottom line is that they are both multi weight champions and undefeated so how they can be criticised is alien to me.

The problem is, a lot of people tend to get attached to other men, that don't give a **** about them. Yet they fall for it. It's sad. When you feel emotionally attached to ANYONE, and they fail, or people think they HAVE failed or will fail, it makes you feel like they're talking about you, in a certain way. That's hard to deal with.

What people should do to get away from that is to realize a fighter doesn't care two drops of piss about you, honestly. Just your money. It's understandable, too. It's his job to sell tickets. He entertains, you buy into it, that's all that should happen. When you let your feelings get in the way of it, that's how facts go out the window, and money is lost in Vegas.

You know what Mickey that's an interesting point and I know its been mentioned by others i.e. Welter, but could there be Alts of Moderators instigating these arguments to fuel the fire for revenue purposes?

                    Some interesting comments.

I'm not qualified to say whether the site is instigating these discussions but I will say why are they letting so many of the same type of threads run concurrently? Other similar sites wouldn't allow this to happen?
