A Question for Hatton Fans

I have a question for Hatton fans, especially the ones who believe he is going to KO Maweather on December 8.

Obviously Hatton is very confident that he is going to win, which is good. My question is this and it is sincere and serious:

Why do you think Hatton's two promoters, Frank Warren and Dennis Hobson, have avoided putting Hatton in the ring with Mayweather for the last four years?

Just to give you a little background. Mayweather tried to secure a fight with Hatton in his first fight at 140, right after he had fought Jose Luis Castille in his only two fights at 135 after moving up from 130. Frank Warren refused the fight, saying "Ricky isn't ready." Since then, both Warren and Hatton's latest promoter have refused to put Hatton in the ring with Mayweather. The decision to fight Mayweather now was Hatton's, not his former promoter, Dennis Hobson, just as the decision to fight Kostya Tyzsu was Hatton's and not Frank Warren's.

well they say that its because he wasnt ready, and in all honesty he probably wasnt.

But he is now as ready as he's ever going to be and i think they realize that this is their best oppurtunity to pull off the upset.

I love Hatton, and while i think his chances are bleak, i think he gives a much better account of himself then many seem to think, and i also think its a very exciting fight despite the tons of claims that it'll be ugly

Two words MORE MONEY. Hatton is supposed to be making 10 million for this fight, more than he's made in his previous 43 fights combined. No wonder he's been talking of retiring even though he barely turned 29.

Well Tszyu was a make or break fight. I mean, if he lost to Tszyu, did he lose a big rep or anything like that? Pavlik wouldn't have lost a made career had he lost to Taylor. It is not unusual for a fighter to take a big risk for their first title fight.

I think the thread starter was just trying to point out that he thinks Frank Warren thinks (sorry for the same verb 3 times in one sentence) that Mayweather has the advantages to beat Hatton. Whether that's true or not, I don't know.

Either way, who gives a ****? They are fighting now. Whether Warren was worried or not will either get reflected in the fight by Hatton's performance, or not... it really doesn't matter much.

I recall reading where the fight has been in motion for years , they needed to get Ricky the public profile in the USA to be able to take the fight to the level it is now , the time frame was all about marketing and business , I knew as soon as Hatton had signed to fight Castillo that Mayweather was next fight .
