I think I'm going to head up there and check out the pre-lim's after I leave the gym today.
My head trainer told me that Mayor Daley is planning on opening up a couple state of the art boxing gyms in the city soon. Maybe it's part of his effort to get the olympics to the city. -
They will be showing the latter part of the competitions on ESPN I believe. I"m volunteering at this event and thats what they were saying.
Also, I think all of the Chicago Park District Boxing gyms have received brand new equipment including rings and heavy bags for the AIBA athletes to come train at. I know my gym got a new ring and heavy bags and it's all awesome. The gym was in desperate need of new ****. I'm really glad Chicago has had lots of big boxing events pouring through here in the past couple of months. I feel very fortunate as I really just got into boxing around May and have been able to witness and participate in these events.Comment
