I think I'm going to head up there and check out the pre-lim's after I leave the gym today.

My head trainer told me that Mayor Daley is planning on opening up a couple state of the art boxing gyms in the city soon. Maybe it's part of his effort to get the olympics to the city.

They will be showing the latter part of the competitions on ESPN I believe. I"m volunteering at this event and thats what they were saying.

Also, I think all of the Chicago Park District Boxing gyms have received brand new equipment including rings and heavy bags for the AIBA athletes to come train at. I know my gym got a new ring and heavy bags and it's all awesome. The gym was in desperate need of new ****. I'm really glad Chicago has had lots of big boxing events pouring through here in the past couple of months. I feel very fortunate as I really just got into boxing around May and have been able to witness and participate in these events.
