the time is coming and it's coming fast, kessler vs calzaghe and i must admit i'm hyped about going. i live in vegas and i am going to an over seas fight for the first time and boy do i hope its a gooden.
even if the fight is crap i will have the rest of my vacation and then finish up the vacation in NY for the mosely vs cotto fight, hell yeah! two major fights wrapped up in one trip.
my thing is this, can anyone give me any insight as to anything i should go and see or check out while i'm in cardiff, any good pubs or ones to avoid. **** if anyone is going to be there i would like to meet up with a fellow boxingscene member and have a pint or few. maybe help me out on finding some smoke? why not but if not i'm cool with drinking until the wheels fall off.
i'm a vegas local, so the whole tourist thing really isnt my style even if im a tourist myself, i much rather hangout with the locals or at the very least do less touristy stuff, ya know. i can't stand the typical fanny pack wearing, picture snapping, point and look over there, there and there, tourist, it's absurd to see people completely expose themselves as a tourist/target, i don't, won't and aint going to be one, so no worries of my embarrassing anyone, haha.
as for the fight, man what can i say, i like both guys, but i'm leaning towards kessler, mainly because of the underdog side of things, although they are somewhat equally matched, experience and hand speed go to joe but other than that i see it a fair and equal match up. i know that this is going to be by far the best atmosphere in a fight setting that i've ever been to, with exception to the outcome and the end of castillo-corrales 1 with chico's comeback in the 10th, but overall this ought to be the biggest gate of a fight that i've ever been to. i've been to a lot of fights here in vegas but nothing of this proportions.
if anyone wants my predictions for the fight, i think that kessler stays on the outside and boxes joe using his jab effectively and wins by decision. but what i really want to happen is that the fight be an all out slugfest, a fight in a phone both, with a 100+ punches thrown per round with some knockdowns for both guys. keep dreaming right!?!?!
all in all, if anyone of the boxingscene community is going to be there for the fight and you wanna have a pint with a yank, hit me up by private message and we'll sort things out and have a brew, and hopefully a toke, peace yall.
