Interesting fight. Miranda is primitive but there's somethign compelling about him. I have nothing but respect for Kelly Pavlik but Miranda really did not look himself that night. Then again, Allan Green didn't look himself when he fought Miranda, so there you have it. Do you remember Green looking down at his feet? I couldn't figure that out. He seemed to just fall apart. Still, Miranda's one of those guys... I'd like to see him come back at super-middle and do some damage. Oddly, I kind of think he needs more speed at super then he did at middle. Maybe that's just my imagination.

hmmm... I know he had major colon surgery but I don't know about that. I think it was more a matter of him losing whatever natural instinct he had (due to his illness?). it was like he forgot how to box. I'm not a huge a fan of his or anything but I do feel bad for the guy. I also remember he had the word "DETOX" on his trunks that night. promotional? inspirational? I've heard he's a hard-core vegan or some such. I have no idea. but I've never seen a professional boxer looking down like that, trying to get his feet right.

That's what I thought, and I still kind of believe it, although an illness like that had to have effected him some way.

Oh and Miranda looked different against Pavlik because Pavlik was taking his best shots and landing bombs. The weight drain excuse is just that, an excuse.
