At the same time, Cotto sells out the Garden, basically fighting anyone. First Paulie, than Judah, and now I'm sure with Mosley. This time, I happen to think the outcome of the fight isn't as good for him, but he is good for the sport. I think with the HBO crowd the build up, the small local promotions that they will give this fight, it should do fine. Not to mention that Shane is atleast a decent name, and Cotto does have his following, the undercard is strong and you still have the HBO peice on the fight that should be airing. It's also still ALMOST three weeks away, so the buzz can build. And the hardcore boxing fans are salivating for this fight. I say it does a very nice and solid 400,000 fights. I really do. For anyone other than De La Hoya, that's a very nice number to pull in.
Where is the Cotto/Mosley promotion?

His attendance was quite good for Malignaggi and Judah.
Obviously his following is reaching mania level in NY, but outside that situation in places like Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and elswehere you get complete non recognition of the champion. And Vegas and LA are fight towns. Especially Brentwood, Malibu, and Beverly Hills..
But here's the cool thing. The Westside will be watching Miguel this time.
This is MAJOR for him.Comment
