You do know Ireland and England are two different countries, right?

Right. And McCloskey is from Northern Ireland.

          What is your point, exactly?

i've actually found that roy jones' style can be very effective as long as you do all the feints adn throw the punches from different angles like he does. i'm not saying i could beat jones but its definately very effective against boxers who are only used to fighting 'boxers'

The United Kingdom is made up of England , Northern Ireland , Scotland & Wales.
However they are all seperate individual countries.
Like the Commonwealth is made up of different countries i.e Australia , Canada etc.

To confuse things further Northern Ireland is made up of 2 different groups, the Protestants who remain faithful to the Crown(Loyalists) and the Catholics who want a unified Ireland.

It is a common mistake for those who live outside the UK who are not educated in Geography to pool everyone together from the UK.

A lot of Ignorant people make this mistake.

Yes, in the strictest literal sense, I know that Northern Ireland is a different country. Which is why I called it Northern Ireland, and not "england".

But I do consider them 'countrymen' in much the same way that I consider France and St. Barts as countrymen.

My sense, and the way it was written, is that the cat who was telling me that "Ireland" and England are different countries was not aware that Northern Ireland is VERY different than Ireland.

In the Olympics, do Northern Ireland and GBR compete seperately?
