    The IBO heavyweight title

Up until recently there were 4 legitimate heavyweight titles the wba, wbc, ibf and wbo . Now there seems to be another added, the IBO title held by wladmir klitschko. How legitimate is this title?.

It doesn't have the stature of the other four. Although, it's titleholder is the best heavyweight there is at the moment that still doesn't give it the "world championship" accolades that the other four possess.

All we need is the 5th belt out there. Let's have 5 "champions" instead of 1, why don't we.

It really is the 5th belt though...

Darchinyan has it at super flyweight.

        Hatton has it at 140.

        Tarver won it at 175.

It still isn't one of the main 4, but it has at least some respect.

Paul Williams should go for the IBO WW title after he is done with cintron, so we can have three belts. IBO aint ****, but when you have the IBO championship, people do acknowledge it.

It just doesn't, I don't have a better explanation... the WBO belt didn't have the stature in the early 90's either. It will probably end up becoming one of the 5 recognized.

The only noteworthy champions the IBO has, are Hatton at JWW, Klitschko at HW, Tarver at LH, Donaire at FLY, and that's about it.. They have Slince Mabuza at BAN, and Tomasz Adamek at CW.. but.. really. they need anoter decade or so, to really get recognition.
