A pal of mine is an MMA freak and he thinks that the De La Hoya crossdressing scandal helped temporarily hurt the interest and credibility of Boxing. I expect that ****.
I've also heard ALOT of people besides still talking about this situation. If I say Boxing they say;
"Hey, did you hear about De La Hoya and the fishnets?"
I also ran across a woman that thinks it will HELP Boxing interest.. Regardless, people are still talking about this where I'm at. Nobody seems to care anymore if they were real or fake. They just remember the pictures.
With Oscar now playing a central role in the sport as overall figurehead, media mogul, super promoter, and largest fighting attraction will the name De La Hoya now carry an added stigma to the world outside Boxing?
And will it affect Boxing?
