one thing ive noticed about MMA fights is that the fans get most excited.....
when the fighters go stand up and box the **** out of it. true story. im a MMA fan and been watching for the past year and a half and the fans love it the most when the fighters rock it out with the hands.
Right the best part about MMA is the standup.
It looks like they are punching harder because they basiclly have no gloves, which accentuates their punching power and also makes defense obsolete.

well yes, i actually prefer to watch someone gktfo by stand up punching. and i hate it when some fighters wanna take to the ground. i mean its called fighthing not takedown or submit ur tightass. some guys gonna be like "oh my god did you see that armbar? **** i rather knock you flat on your ass.

Defence obsolete? Hardly. My instructor stresses head movement to avoid punches. Slipping and bob-and-weaving specifically, which are taken from boxing.
As for power, speaking for myself, being hit by an MMA glove has alot less of the concussive feeling than being hit by a boxing glove. The MMA glove is alot more likey to cut you though.
well kicking does it as well. It's basically striking that gets fans excited and the easier part of the body to strike with is obviously the hands. I am a former amatuer boxer, am a writer and historian and a true boxing purist fan. However, I really enjoy MMA and the nuances of takedowns, sprawls, submissions and basic body control just like ring generalship. Both sports have their validity but I will always chose boxing over MMA. Its just that for as big a prick as Dana White is, his ability to market his product properly is what has catapulted it to its current fame. That and the time-tested move of only having one champion per weight class, yeah thats helps UFC a lot.
