Which NFL players would have made Great Heavyweights ?

Americans are always using the excuse that all of their best Heavyweights have gone to the NFL in search of more dough and this may be true. Which NFL players do you think would have made great HW's.

The obvious first choice has to be Ray Lewis, he is the most intimidating player in the NFL hands down.

There are also monsters like Brian Urlacher 6,4 260 lbs and Shawn Merriman 6,4 270 lbs. These two guys are both the same size as Shannon Briggs, but they are faster, stronger and more athletic.

None. It's not their sport. In Boxing athleticism don't mean ****. It certainly wouldn't hurt just look at Roy Jones JR. But this isn't Track and Field. I remember when Pavlik fought Taylor everybody was saying that JT was the better athlete and he was going to do circles around Pav but we seen what happened and JT ran Track in High School. Put Ray Lewis in the ring with Klitschko and he'll get KO'd same if you put Wlad at wide receiver and send him across the middle Have you ever seen Mike Tyson play basketball JT can't even dribble he bounces with ball I'm sure with the right training they could be good maybe very good but for the most part it's not their sport.

Good post, I agree for the most part.

By the way, how did the Cleveland Indians fans react to Pavlik when he through the opening pitch. Did he throw a strike ?

And Shannon Briggs would ko either of them. They're good at football, boxing is totally different training. They would have to be totally ****** if they think they could compete with professional boxers.

What I meant is if physical specimans like that decided to take up boxing at an early age than they may have had success in it. But they would probably end up like Michael Grant, he was a monster physical speciman, Lewis made him pay for thinking he could make it in boxing.
