no one hates hatton. i havent seen anyone say they hate hatton. they jus say floyd will win when they fight. i think this as well. but i dont hate hatton, i hate you....

I actually LIKED teh guy back in the day. I watched him fight Tszyu, and there was so much joy in him. The way that he cried when he won. I like guys like hatton/Tito/floyd who show emotion. maybe that is why I never connected with Shane/Oscar/Cotto.

Anyway, Hatton struck me as a humble, honest dude. When offered the Mayweather fight two years ago, he openly admitted that he wasn't ready. How can you hate on that?

Also, in 2006, they offered him the 'in-jeopardy' April 8th Zab date. Team Hatton said that they were not ready yet. They wanted some tune-ups to get accustomed to American crowds, time zones, etc. How can you hate on that. Honesty. Even though his opponents never got that for Manchester, but whatever. They asked for 3 tune-ups. Fine.

Here it is - three fights later - and they have kept their word. Team hatton took their three fights, and they have accepted the mayweatehr fight. COOL.

Now, i'm watching RH/Castillo. He says "I showed more excitement tonite than in Floyd's whole career". Huh? wh-wh-whut? Who is this guy? Is this the same guy that has traveled to several of Mayweather's fights? (true story). Is this the same guy who said this:

"He's got amazing skills," Hatton admitted. "He's pound-for-pound the best in the world, he's great to watch, skilful, lightning fast, I always watch his fights.

Ricky, just two fights ago you were saying how great he was to watch. Now you are dissing FMJ's whole career? Huh?

Soooo, that was strike one.


I even gave Ricky a pass when he bragged on his level of opposition and mentioned Freddie Pendleton. Seriously. I choked back my vomit, and let it pass.

Strikes two through 8,789,429,393,854 were because Hatton's fans have been so absolutely racist/obnoxious/condescending/delusional.


So, 97.635% of my hate for Hatton is because of his fans.

GREAT post Dios. "I hate Hatton by proxy...." great stuff.
My pick for the upcoming Hatton vs Mayweather fight comes from watching and following the sport for 20+ years. Nothing more. It's not because of any hatred towards Hatton. How the **** can I hate a man I have never met? If anything, I think Hatton is good people. But these rabid ass Hatton fanbois can't seperate these two things.
I've stated in previous threads WHY I picked Mayweather to win this fight, by past opponents, skill sets and techniques. But what does Hatton fanboi do? Makes some thread about Mayweather ducking Tszyu. And one Hatton fanboi actually said Pac would KO Mayweather... AT 140.
There fanbois on both side of the fence concerning this fight. There people who think that Hatton will win and have made great arguements in doing so. I'm cool with them. Hatton fanboi, not so much...
