  • How would Sergio Mora be competitive with Ouma...

If he couldn't handle Elvin Ayala? Mora is simply not a top level fighter, no way around it. He hasn't adjusted well to life outside of The Contender and is simply putting off the inevitable, his first L.

He was training for Ouma for weeks, probably peaked and no fight happend. So then he continues to train for Ayala...Lots of weeks of training for an opponent youre not motivated to fight would probably have any fighter looking less than spectacular. He goes from a huge fight on PPV to an untelevised fight, not hard to see how this can happen.

^^Tell that to Mcline, who knocked Peter down 3 times and almost out cold.. Naw, but this does make a lot of sense, though I don't think I'd be willing to give Mora the benefit of the doubt since he hasn't proven that he deserves it.

Peter was in the same situation. He was training to fight Oleg forever, to WIN the belt but then they just name him champion, and he fights McCLine. When you train for something, and have an actual goal such as winning a championship, or beating a fighter who is going to give you credibility and that falls through the table yet you still have to fight, im sure the performance is going to be affected.

i made this SAME EXACT thread earlier. I completely agree.

Ouma has a similar style to Ayala, except he is obviously a much better fighter then Ayala, much more experienced, throws more punches... it would have been a blowout

everyone was saying the same about gomez when he had that awful performance vs felicianoi......of course ouma is one of my favorite fighters so i wouldnt really care who wins between him and mora....but people are jumping the gun a little too soon....mora had an awful performace, he needs to get really tested to know what he has...

He's had quite a few awful performances since I've followed him. I don't know what changed against Ayala. Mora looked his same old pedestrian self.
