Kameda Family apologizes!
By Joe Koizumi
Daiki Kameda, the 18-year-old loser of an October 11 WBC flyweight title bout, his father/trainer Shiro and his manager/promoter Keiichiro Kanehira have publicly apologized today (Wednesday) for Daiki having continually committed fouls against defending champ Daisuke Naito at the office of the Japan Boxing Commission (JBC). The crestfallen Daiki, who was suspended for one year yesterday, had his hair completely cut like a monk to show his apology for having seriously insulted the dignity of the world title bout and boxing itself. Shiro, whose cornerman license was also banned indefinitely, reflected on the foul-studded bout and pledged not to have Daiki commit such a dirty fight [in the future]. Kenehira said they would go and meet Naito to apologize for Daiki having hurt him with many fouls. We hope this social turmoil will terminate with this ultimate apology to the champ.
