I don't wanna come off as a hater but I gotta share my thouhts. I have read a couple of people say that this guy could beat Wladmir Klitsckho. I seriously don't see this happen because to me sultan is not all that. First off he didn't even earn his title shot. It was result of a draw to Ray Austin, a man Wlad destroyed in one round. If Ibragamov is this great fighter that can beat Klitsckho then why couldn't he get a win against Austin. Yeah he won the title but he won it from an out of shape champion who only prepared for four days for the fight. Not making excuses for Briggs but at the same time I thought Sultan got too much credit for winning a fight he should have won in the first place. Yeah he defended his title successfully against a known name but Holyfield is way past his prime and this last fight showed it. If he fought the same Holyfield that fought Tyson, Bowe, etc he would have got picked apart. I don't know I just dont see anything special about this guy. He has the title but he got it from fighting low level opposition. What do yall think.

I was impressed with Ibragimov's skills but he seems like a samll heavyweight to me. He looked a lot smaller than Holyfield. Sultan is listed at 6'2 and holyfield at 6'2 and 1/2 but Holyfield looked at least two inches taller than him. Comapred to Wlad's 6'6 frame, I think Ibragimov may be too small. Wlad's reach advantage may be too much for Ibragimov to overcome. -
I couldn't get impressed cause he was in there against a much older opponent. If puts on that type of performance against chagaev or klitsckho or against a top competitor who is at the top their game then he will get my respect.I was impressed with Ibragimov's skills but he seems like a samll heavyweight to me. I think the verdict’s still out on Sultan; having seen his last 6 fights, he does seem like he’s improving as his style evolves. He fought very smart fights against Briggs and Holyfield, has very good footwork, as well as handspeed to complement it. However, he needs to throw more punches and press the action more than he does…
We’ll see how he does against Thompson…Comment

Don't get me wrong, I still like Sultan but ever since Mayweather has taken him over he has become a boring fighter. Maybe it is best for his career but when he came out like Tyson in his earlier fights he was awesome to watch. His defense first style is turning a lot of people off to him. Too bad because if you watch his fights before Mayweather took over he is a completely different fighter. All action!Comment

Briggs knew Ibragimov was his mandatory and he had month to prepare... he then postponed the fight to buy himself moree time..
Briggs had all the time in the world.Comment

Ibragimov did not have any problem playing pinball with the huge 6'8 Whitaker in the ring who outweighed him by more than 50lb.I was impressed with Ibragimov's skills but he seems like a samll heavyweight to me. I do agree with TheFairPole, that having Mayweather in his corner, messes up with Ibragimov's performance.
He should have had Holy out in 3 rounds... but he chose to box to a safe victory.
Outcome - 2 possibilities:
1 - He got a little something from Holy to make him look good and not to take him out/hurt him
2 - Mayweather really turned him into ****!Last edited by !! Mr. Soprano; 10-16-2007, 01:16 PM.Comment
