Do you smell, great fights in 2008?

It seems like all a sudden, people are calling out each other or not as afraid to take risks as much anymore. You had Taylor-Pavlik which was a risky fight for Taylor but he didn't give a ****. You had Vasquez-Marquez 1&2 that was a risk for both men. You got Cotto-Mosley coming up which is a risk for Cotto but he don't care who he fights. Calzaghe calling out Pavlik which would be an awesome fight in my opinion. Fight of the Year candidate easily. Manny Pacquiao agreeing to fight Valero if all goes right in terms of money and whatnot. Perhaps even a move up to 135lbs for Manny which means exciting fights, but a risk against any fight he takes up there. I mean, it's like, fighters don't care anymore at this point and are taking the fights that are good for the viewers. Of course theres a lot of promoters crap inbetween that has to do with a lot of it, but so far, it's been real good for the fans. What you think?

I can only hope that the amazing year that has been 2007, was just the kick off to the years that will follow it. I remember being a fan a few years ago when you'd get 1, maybe 2 great fights per year. It's very refreshing to look back at what's already taken place in '07 and I think things will only go up from here.

If boxing keeps up this pace it will become widely covered and talked about again.

Yeah, I'm hoping it's having a surge again. I think with the UFC and MMA stuff lately, it seemed to drown out boxing alittle bit, especially during the dull time boxing had last year and the year before where there wasn't all that much going on. Now, it's coming back strong, and it's definitely here to stay. Who knows, maybe in another 5 years, it'll drown out again, and we'll go through the same ****, but you know what? It'll come back, because that's just the way it goes

Im looking to 3 massive fights. 2 of which im influenced by my Australian bias.

          1) Mayweather vs Cotto
          2) Katsidis vs Pac Man
          3) Kessler vs Mundine

Yeah, every sport has **** years but boxing is more prone to it, or so it seems. I've always thought we just get criticisized for it more than others. Boxing may have **** years from time to time but it will never go away completely, it can only be held down for so long.

We can only hope it tops 07, and the way fighters are stepping up and facing one another, it looks like that will happen.

I don't want to throw this topic, 20 pages, OFF TOPIC. So I won't answer that.
