Don't put the jingoistic hopes on Tony Thompson. Is he as good as Byrd or Brock? Probably not.
Sultan Imbragimov vs. Tony Thompson

Sultan SD. I never really rated Thompson that high, I think that Sultan takes uhim relativly easily but Tony could win some rounds on activeness, if Sultan fights cautiously.
Then Sultan can fight either Changeav or Wlad and lose.Comment

In any event, I hope that this fight gets made quickly and we can move on to bigger and better fights for the hw division...Comment

Brock has no better wins than Thompson. and I dont even want to think about how horrible a fight between Byrd and Imbragimov would be, but Brock would have a good chance to beat Imbragimov as well.
I think Thompson is a solid fighter. Reminds me somewhat of Glen Johnson. he doesnt put a lot of power behind his punches, but hes a big guy and his punches automatically do plenty of damage, so that actually works wewll for him.
Being a solid fighter with size is good enough for a good majority of heavyweights nowadays.Comment

Thompson beat a well out-of-sorts (mentally) Krasniqi...Krasniqi didn't have his head anywhere near him in that fight.
Thompson is good, quite good.........but watch him, his footwork is slow. He will do well against a stand-up opponent...
Against Ibragimov, I can't see Thompson being able to catch him as Ibragimov reminds me of a Heavyweight Calzaghe..
I pick Ibragimov on points (his movement will be too slick for the tiger)Comment
