Pavlik isn't that good on a p4p level, he is dominant at Middleweight because he's a huge middleweight, and he nearly got sparked out by Taylor, who wasn't on the list. Hopkins followed up his two disputed losses to a landslide win over the undisputed champion two weight classes higher.

Pound for pound is a mythical ranking based on who would beat the most fighters of any weight category if difference in weight and size were not a factor. Hopkins and Wright have proven their ability to do this, Taylor has not, and honestly neither has Pavlik.

Oh and capitalising every letter is pound for pound the lamest thing you can do. Apart from invent nicknames for boxers based on bad puns.

yes he lost officially, but did he really lose the fight? was the winky/taylor match really a draw? the beautiful thing about p4p rankings is it doesnt take into accoutn the b.s. that goes on with the judging. so i agree p4p is about the best fighters in the world, and winky and bernard are 2 of them

Not if you're deciding on a "who would win if" ranking. If Mayweather loses to Hatton will he drop from the p4p list because he got beat once?

Let's not forget that Taylor was promoted to number 6 p4p after his second win over Hopkins only to drop like a stone after a set of stinkers against guys far smaller than him, that still managed to back him up.

Hopkins on the other hand followed up his loss against Taylor by a massive win 15 lbs north of where he had fought most of his career, together with a close victory over another p4p guy who Taylor drew with but had arguably deserved to lose. Pavlik comes along and beats the smaller Taylor after coming dangerously close to being sparked and now he's expected to be a pound for pound guy?

I think this guy is just bad that Hopkins and Wright both beat Trinidad badly. That's sad. Either way, Wright beat Trinidad, and then beat a hard punching Quartey. he lost to Hopkins that's why he dropped down. Hopkins, won the TRUE light heavy title from the guy who destroyed Roy Jones. How does that not deserve recognition?

fair enough pavlik has an amzaing record coming through the ranks, even more impressive he beat edison miranda and Jermaine taylor... you got too take into account edison miranda was a prospect the only names he had too his resume was Allan green and Arthur abraham before loosing too pavlik so hes a good win but not a pound 4 pound win, second of all every one on here was running down jermaine taylor for the size and level of opponent he fought after beating hopkins, everyone was saying if he fights someone his size he will loose and he did... too pavlik.... so why the big fuss for pavlik....

I like pavlik as a fighter i like his style hes the type of bloke that will make me buy ppv's but after he defeats a few more name then i think everyone can have an argument if he's not in the top P4P list.
