Is Katsidis Ducking Casamayor?

I agree that Katsidis did sound pretty ignorant talking about the ring magazine belt. Casamayor is the true champ but hasn't fought for over a year.

Still, I think Juan Diaz vs. Michael Katsidis could be a great fan friendly match-up with two come-forward fighters going toe-to-toe.

From the sounds of it, Katsidas is a little wary of Casamayor.

Everyone in the division seems to waiting & hoping for some-one else to fight him to find out how much he has left.


However, Katsidas is justifiably focused on gaining full honours for the WBO belt, where he is interim champ.

It's a big deal to him - got stuck on the sidelines for a few years with visa troubles, & sees this as his way in.

They're the ones that gave him his first shot at the big time, & are mandating the shot against Diaz-Diaz winner against him (something like in 60 days? the fight must be signed), which is a big TV fight, so he's got reasons to be happy with them.
