Barrera and Morales finished at 29 years old, but it was in Mexican boxing years.

How many bouts did they end up with? 54 for Morales. 70 for Barrera.

De La Hoya only has 43 bouts, and he excercised much better defense. It is logical that Barrera and Morales would have lost more of their ability of that period of time than De La Hoya.

Even so, I didn't think Barrera was shot going into the last fight. I thought he was going to outbox Manny, and I think anyone who said what I said before the fight and now says that Manny beat a shot item is a hypocrit.

Even if Marco was passed it in his last fight with Manny, why is that incumbent on Pacquiao to recognize this?

The same with Hatton and Castillo. Castillo didn't look that bad in his past few fights, but he looked awful against Hatton. Hatton still did exactly what he should have, in a much-anticipated match against the #1 ranked opponent in the division.

Revisionism sucks, no matter who it is discrediting.
    Floydboy,

Marco Antonio Barrera at time MP MAB I - Record 57-3 Hadnt lost a fight in 4 years.

EM vs MP Record 47-2. Only two losses both to MAB. He went on to win this fight with MP. MP came back for two more and put a beatdown on him the very next year.

Its called putting down greats just like I said to make themselves look better. Get a clue.

I think his win over Barrera is unquestionably his best win.

A very good win regardless of who beat Barrera at that point.

Morales I was a good fight, but he lost.

He started to show that he was ****ed against Raheem, and then when he gassed out in the second match with Pacquiao. The third fight wasn't even a contest.

That is a double standard. How can you justify one's action and accept it and call the other one's action disrepectful. Not trying to be rude towards you but this is just flat out bull**** you're talking. They both talked about thier opponents so dont try to make it seem like it was ok for ali to talk **** but you get mad at Floyd once he does it. THAT IS A DOUBLE STANDARD.

because they are two different people in different situations. trash talk doesnt necessarily make someone a prick. if you saw the manchester press conference hatton actually humiliated floyd more in a few comical lines than pbf managed to insult hatton in numerous insults in the states. that 'stop touching me **** ya puff' and ' i thought id miss my six year old more than i did but ive spent the last two weeks with another ****in six year old' were funny because they were delivered by someone with personality who had a bit of warmth and wit behind the stereotypical 'i'll make you my *****' rubbish that floyd had spent the last fortnight spoutin

even nice guys can come out with trash talk, its the personality that counts. ali is remembered for being a quick witted, charming and politically aware lad, who, fair enough was arrogant, but was also a nice guy behind it. he was on talk shows and he comes across as a nice human being, whereas floyd comes across as a spoilt brat

I'm pretty sure he meant gorilla as in the synonym for ******.

Yes, it was a racial slur, no doubt.

                LMAO( at the bold)
but back to the discussion, I agree with your points but do you think that Ali was ****y and arrogant also? ( I'm comparing thier fighting ablities just their personality) All I'm saying is that both are good people outside of the ring but can be some mean mother****ers when it comes to promote their fight. So you dont think Floyd is a nice guy. Floyd give back to Grand Rapids. He helps in his community and he is a very nice guy despite his ****y ass ways. That why I say in all fairness that its a double standard.

It is only after we (so-called boxing fans) see him in this pitiful and humbled state that we come to adore and somewhat respect his accomplishments. Many promoters, boxing venues and handlers alike were fed off of Ali's Talent, as they are with Mayweather.
