    Arum disses Floyd Mayweather Jr...

old news and not because it's a week ago

Arum disses Floyd Mayweather Jr and makes Pacquiao vs Barrera Prediction
By Johnny Benz (Oct 3, 2007)

At a recent gathering in Atlantic City, N.J., Bob Arum was on hand with a bunch of boxing writers who where there questioning the legendary Promoter. Arum had plently to say, incuding his feelings on Floyd Mayweather Jr and the upcoming battle between Manny Pacquiao and Marco Antonio Barrera. Arum dissed Mayweather for not taking any fights that are risks, and indicated the only reason Mayweather is willing to face Ricky Hatton on Decemeber 8, is because he knows he can beat Hatton. Arum also made his prediciton on Saturday's fight with Pacquiao and Barrera. Arum feels Pacquiao will win

again, but feels its foolish to automatically think Pacquiao will once again knock-out Barrera.

In regards to Mayweather vs Hatton, Arum told the reporters: "Ricky Hatton is a good kid, but he has no chance – none – at beating Mayweather."

Arum added: "If he did, Mayweather wouldn't think about fighting him in a million years. Mayweather doesn't want to fight anyone, and I mean anyone, who can really fight."

In regards to Pacquiao vs Barrera, Arum stated: "It is a very serious mistake to think that because Manny knocked Barrera out in 2003, he's going to do it again."

Arum added: "The circumstances are totally different. I think Manny will win, but not because he won in 2003, but because he's really improved tremendously since then. (Trainer) Freddie Roach has

done a great job with him."

Haha, he disses Mayweather but lauds Manny for fighting Barrera after convincingly beating him...

    Cool, nice job Arum.

Better to fight a hall of famer twice coming off a razor close fight with JMM than fight Gatti then Baldomir.

But, kudos to Floyd for taking on DLH...if you can call what he did 'taking on'.

Well I'll give Floyd bigger props if he beats Hatton decisively, and tries to hurt Hatton at least some.

The only reason Arum is dissing Mayweather is cause as soon as Mayweather figured out that he could with no problem manage his own career,he dropped Arum as a promoter. It's dead obvious Arum is just sour that hes no longer making money off of the p4p best fighter today.

He got his predictions right on target for this one.

                Now that's insight for you.
