No, not just cos hes half Italian.
Lets think about this suckers. Calzaghe's opponents seem to be very similar to Mr.Balboa's.
Chris Eubank- Apollo Creed
Joe was a young fighter when he fought Eubank (who was a very eccentric patriotic entertainer, just like Creed). Joe whooped his old ass and thats when people found out about the Italian Dragon (or Italian Stallion).
Jeff Lacy- Clubber Lang
Now after beating up Creed/Eubanks ass he spent a long time beating up average/good fighters (KINDA LIKE ROCKY). However, a new boy comes on the scene and starts knocking out his opponents. It is clear that this new fighter Lacy/Lang is very good and everybody is expecting him to whoop Joe's ass (although he already whooped Rocky the first time round but lets not talk about that). After all the hype, Calzaghe knocks seven shades of **** out of Lacy/Lang.
Mikkel Kessler- Ivan Drago
Both hard-as-**** Europeans that like to mingle with the roids. When Calzaghe whoops his Slavic German Danish or whatever the ****s ass up, he'll finally be considered P4P#1.
Then hopefully down the line somewhere we can get Tarver- Calzaghe.
