  • can a fighter be a coward??

i see to many people say no man who gets in the ring cannot be a coward. i see fighters who are scared to fight who run all day who are scared to go toe to toe and i think that is cowardly. why get in the ring if you dont really want to fight?? i think any man can get in the ring and it takes no guts to run around for 12 rounds. i see bums who get paid $10 and will go to war and i have more respect for them then cowards and businessman who run 12 rounds and get paid $$ millions.

I concur. But yet again, the businessmen bring the big shows(unfortunetly). Like DLH, I loathe his punk ass, but he makes the big fights. And we watch them so in reality who is to blame?

There are different ways and styles to boxing. Not every fighter needs to go in and have a toe to toe war like Gatti-Ward or some kind of Rocky Balboa fight! If you can hit someone and get out of the way avoid getting hit thats a successful formula to winning a fight! Ali danced round his opponents whilst scoring with quick combinations and jabs and hes hailed as one of the greatest of all time and not a coward! To blatantly run with no intention of actually fighting is cowardly but using a stick and move style, avoiding getting hit whilst tagging your opponent isn't cowardly, it's skillful IMO! Do I like a toe to toe war where both fighters stand and give their opponent everything they've got until one falls? Damn right I do but I can also respect and admire fighters who use speed and footwork to beat their opponents. But thats just IMO.

I think so. **** sapiens are - from a psycological standpoint - very complex animals. It is possible for a fighter to be at once courageous and still harbor an element of cowardice within. Fighters who run (Lou Bizarro) or are exclusive counter-punchers (Cory Spinks) do exibit a form of cowardice.

The "counter-punchers" are less obvious than the cyclists (runners) in that they hide behind the cloak of "Self defense," when in reality, they're afraid to lead for fear of being counter-punched themselves. When two fighters who share this philosophy are matched, the end result is a big yawner.

You can always weed out who is really showing cowardice or isfighting t their best asset, boxing. Them being a coward in your eyes makes no difference, because most people who aren't Mexicans are cowards to you.

Boxing is a complex sport that involves craft, tecnique, skill. Not everybody is created equal... You can't brawl with everyone... Some dudes are faster, some stronger, some slicker, some are offensive, some are defensive etc etc... They all step in there with men that will tear you up and spit you out with out breaking a sweat...They face serious injury or even death...Would you step in the ring with Tyson? If you did what would you do? If you could hit big you could brawl. Featherfisted fighters would be dumb to do that. If you knew you were faster thats what you use againts him. Get it... I myself would rather watch an all out war but do enjoy a chess match now and then..

All I know is that if I was given 20 Million Bucks I'd fight Mike Tyson. If you think about it, the average guy would fight Mike for a HUNDREDTH of that amount.

Yup, which makes you a hypocrit, because I bet you wouldn't be throwing a ton of extra punches, which is EXACTLY what you criticized Mayweather for... underperforming when he is getting like $20 million.

                  Suck a ****.

For TWENTY MILLION BUCKS? Hell man I'd do anything! What's getting knocked out compared to getting 5 JAGUARS, 5 MERCEDES BENZS, 5 MANSIONS, your OWN JET and 5 SUPERMODELS?

                    Get real man.
