**** no. Larry is a guy that I sorta like and hate at the same time, but some of the **** he says and does is just irreplaceable. Kellerman is an obnoxious whinney little ***** who probably couldnt punch his way out of a wet paper bag and doesnt know nearly as much as he pretends to. I've heard Kellerman make so many horrible picks. Merchant can be a bit obnoxious too, but hes a lot more real about it.. sorta like hear's what I think and **** you if you don't agree.

Oh yeah, thats usually why he makes such ****ty picks, I forgot. On a non-joking matter, did anyone else think, when Kellerman's brother got killed, that it was perhaps partially due to Max's, and presumably his brother's, constant nuthugging of fighters, which partially blinded them to the unsavoriness of Butler's character? I mean, Butler was staying with the bro at the time. I remember thinking this at the time.Comment

No, but I do remember thinking, "I wonder if being an annoying prick runs in the family..."Oh yeah, thats usually why he makes such ****ty picks, I forgot. Seriously thought, he had no business inviting somebody as unstable as Butler into his home, much less inviting him to stay with him. That is just bad judgment. Sad to say, but its Darwinism in action.
You don't invite a mentally unstable fighter with a history of unpredictable violent outbursts to live in your home.Comment

Merchant's an able and experienced commentator, but Kellerman's a refreshing relative newcomer to the fight game. Merchant can sometimes lull you to sleep with his slow delivery and occasionally seem to lose his train of thought. He is so slow that on several occasions he would start a comment on what might happen during a fight, only to have it occur while he was still in mid-sentence. Kellerman, on the other hand, has that rapid-fire speech which rolls off his tongue like a James Woods.Comment

[When Larry leaves the HBO broadcasts will suck big time. Max is nothing but a ****y, seat-filler who is as bias as anyone I have ever seen in broadcasting. Larry is the GOAT]
My thoughts exactly!Comment

I agree. Bring back Cossell. I'll take Lampley over Merchant anyday. Both have they're good and bad qualities. Both have favorite fighters and the let it show when commentating which I personally hate because I feel commentators are supposed to be unbiased. Merchant for instance talks about the supposed bad state that boxing is in. Yet all he does is complain when any fighter doesn't do what LARRY MERCHANT thinks they should do. What kind of **** is that? Merchant doesn't help boxing with his constant whining and complaining. If a person who is a casual fan watching a fight keeps on listening to Merchant complain and down grade the product why would that casual fan keep watching when a person with "so called" boxing knowledge is doing nothing but talking negatively about boxing? Kellerman is just to hyped sometimes and needs to calm down and not show favor so much and he'll be fine. I think Kellerman actually know more about the styles and nuiances of fighting than Larry Merchant does. I like the fact that Larry Merchant speaks how he feels but who the **** is he to down grade a fighter for not fighting the fight HE felt they should fight. To my knowledge fighting another persons fight isn't the best way to get a win.
So my answer is yes Max Kellerman can easily replace Larry Merchant. Larry Merchant isn't like Howard Cossell and shouldn't even mentioned with him to be honest.Comment

There is no way Kellerman can replace Merchant. Kellerman needs a few more years to even be listenable to me. Everytime I hear Kellerman I just want to turn the mute on. I will never forgive him for comparing Paulie Malignaggi to Billy Conn.Comment

I dont think I'll EVER get use to hearing Max's ****ing voice. It was a good day when he priced himself out of FnFs.Comment
