True thats why I said Larry has some good qualities as a commentator I just feel he goes to far to often with his personal feelings to be commentator. I guess he got that way with his old age and constant drinking because he seems to be drunk a lot during broadcasts.
You know how it goes once you get old you get to say just about whatever out of your mouth and people give you a pass because of your age majority of the time.

Who doesn't love listening to an old, angry drunk man talk though? And about boxing? My favorite sport in the world? Sign me the hell up. Also, who......doesn't love....Larry's constant.......pauses? You think he's thinking up this dramatic, insightful question but then he comes out with "did he hurt you at any time in the fight?".

When Larry leaves the HBO broadcasts will suck big time. Max is nothing but a ****y, seat-filler who is as bias as anyone I have ever seen in broadcasting. Larry is the GOAT.

Larry Merchant is a Legend, Max Kellerman genuinely loves the sport but his loud in your face commentating gets obnoxious.

The difference between Kellerman and Merchant boils down to 2 key issues. Charisma, and longevity. It's impossible for me not to like Larry for the same reason it's hard for me not to like Jim, I grew up listening to them. Their voices are synnonymous with boxing.

No one could take Larry's title. He's the Undisputed champ on HBO. He's one of the few guys that didnt box I like to listen to cuz he's funny.
