The fact that he's willing to fight anyone doesn't make him a warrior. Not when you consider when he gets in there his hugging tactics make Ricky Hatton turn green with envy.

he's cut down on his hugging tactics as of late.

John Ruiz haters are the biggest hypocrites in boxing.

The hate him cause he hugs, tell me you aren't a Hatton fan as well!
He's not exciting? PBF fans, please.

Yes his style isn't pleasant for most of you, but the fact is he's faced EVERYONE in front of him. He's no ducker.

another question- the most important one.

Did any of you even SEE his last fight vs Chagaev?

**** outta here with the hugging claims then.

It's just too bad that Ruiz isn't with Norman Stone anymore. Stoney was what gave his fights any interesting value. I always used to crack up hearing Larry Merchant utter his disgust at Stoney's behavior at ringside.

John Ruiz blows. That being said, any legit contender really HAS to face him and beat him down to gain that legit contender status, IMHO. He is the hugger version of McCline; yes, no?

This would/could be an interesting fight. Shame on Sergei if he pulls out, I mean, ****, it basically gives the winner a WBA shot in their next bout no matter what.

That's exactly what I said when this fight was announced 9 days before the fight date.

Actually, I think the winner faces Valuev for the # 1 WBA spot; the winner of this would likely get a shot…

You don't have to watch him fight.

You're obviously interested because you're talking about it.

Im pretty sure this fight could be entertaining. Only because Sergei would make it.

I just read on another website that Sergei's trainer has said that they are already slated to fight Valuev in Jan. Why would Sergei fight the #3 contender when he is already set to fight the #1 contender?
