Thats a uninformed thing to say. You have no idea who he's fighting. You could have just posted I hate DLH and saved the trouble. He wasn't exactly out on his feet against Mayweather.

ive been sayin that **** for years. shane mosley has always been my favorite boxer. and i think he did beat dlh fair. as for hopkins and that marathon mayweather, i hate their boxing styles and they suck big time.

This piece will prove that Mayweather is one of the most overhyped fighters of all time with a carefully crafted record. 13 of Mayweathers 24 KO victories from his 38 fights came in his first 17 fights, for a guy who is suppose to be a crowd pleaser and an exciting fighter to watch. His first "real test" was against Genaro Hernandez (38-1-1), but even for his 18th fight in his career that began in 1997, he woulden't face an undefeated fighter until 2001, against Diego Corrales.

Hernandez who had an tough rugged inflated record was already knocked out in 1995 by De la Hoya, when he fought Mayweather in 1998 for the title. Hernandez started his career in 1984 and was 32 during the fight, retired after his defeat. Mayweathers next opponent, Angel Manfredy also had an extremely inflated record when he faced Mayweather, and went on to lose 7 more fights after his defeat to Mayweather. Then next up was Carlos Alberto Ramon Rios, who ended his career with 11 loses, and fought almost exclusively in Argentina to inflate his record, and his only 2 fights previous to his Mayweather figtht were lost.

His next defense came against Justin Juuko, at that time with a respectable 33-2-1 record, however he lost a fight just 3 months before facing Mayweather to Antonio Hernandez, with a record of 49-22, and went on to lose 6 of his 14 fights after his Mayweather fight. Next up, Carlos Gerena, extremely inflated record, his only test prior to Mayweather was Genaro Hernandez, and he lost obviously by UD, he went on to fight fighters with a combined record of 83-69, and boom, guess what it was Mayweathers turn to face him, and he was given a title shot right after beating Angel Aldama, at 29-27-1 by a decesion in 8 rounds.

Gregorio Vargas, standing at 5 foot 5, was given a shot and might have actually been one of the more experienced fighters coming into the ring with Mayweather, even though he carried 6 loses coming into the right, and went on to retire after losing 2 out of 7 fights following his fight with Mayweather. Emanuel Augustus, was his attempt to move up to 135, and he fought a guy with a record of 22-16-4. He then moved back down to 130 to face Diego Corrales, in a good match until Mayweather was able to figure out the spot that Corrales was knocked down on 8 other occasions by and TKO Corrales.

Then came Carlos Hernandez, another extremely inflated record, having lost 2 fights previous to higher caliber opponents, and he got his championship title shot which he did nothing to warrant, and fought figheters with records of 9-18, and 27-7-2. Mayweather went on to fight Jesus Chavez, his second test of his career [but dont be fooled] (even thought Chavez also had an inflated record, and only big win came against Arias (33-1) but don't be fooled by his record it was also EXTREMLY inflated and Arias went to retire 3 fights later), but the true 130 pound fighter had no chance with Mayweather, and actually remained at 130, until recently in a move to 125 where he was 1-1.

Then of course came the Castillo fights, the first one he was gifted, everyone knows he lost, and the second one was a close win. It was probably his biggest win in his career, but most controversial, but a great accomplishment netherless because he did move up to 135 for the fight from 130. Mayweather then went on to fight Sosa, beating him by decesion, but only a year later Cotto knocked out Sossa in 4! Then he fought N'dou, a fighter who spent his entire career fighting out of South Africa, who did lose to Mayweather, following up with another loss, and then retirement.

Then the Judah factor comes into play, Judah beats Corley by decesion, so Mayweather of course has to fight him, and we all know that Cotto went on to once again TKO Corley the following year. Then I guess Mayweather decided to take a break and fight Henry Brussels, who was previously knocked out by Roberto Ortega (14-7) and lost a majority decesion to Ernesto Azavala, but hey its Mayweather, so he gave him a title shot for no specific reason.

Then came the spectacle that really started his career, a fight against Arturo Gatti, who he himself called a C class, club fighter, and then claimed this to be his biggest win of his career. Whole point was to put his face into the public eye, Gatti was overmatched by the quicker Mayweather, but who didn't see this coming? Gatti has been past his prime since 1997, but gained much respect and recognition for his ring wars.

For his quick move to 147, having already in his mind conquered Hatton, Cotto etc., at 140, fought Sharmba Mitchell, who coming off a serious knee injury, had been humiliated by Kostya Tszyu in 3 rounds the previous year, and very discouraged as a fighter afterwards, was another perfectly set match for Mayweather. Of course we all know what followed, Baldomir beat Judah, but Mayweather still gave him a shot, only to follow that up with a fight with an outclassed Baldomir the same year. to win the title at 147, and decide it was enough at that weight class.

He then went on to fight De la Hoya, running the entire fight, and of course De La Hoya is only past his prime for the past 8-10 years or so, and then had the nerve to retire and call himself the greatest p4p ever!
