does amir khan have a chance at becoming a world champion?

@ light weight he may have a chance.

i cant see he beating Joel Casamayor or Juan Díaz.

He may have a shoot at Julio César Díaz but i think he may be too much for khan too.

@ Super lightweight i think he has a chance

he may beat gavin rees but i cant see frank warren putting to of his fighter up agenst each other.

    Junior Witter would kill amir

Paul Malignaggi would be his best chance as he hasnt got the most power in the world.

Ricardo Torres would be hard to judge i think he would expose khans glass chin.

mayweather and hatton arnt champions in the class atm but he aint got a chance at beating them.

I think he has but he needs more time in my opinion.

As I have said in previous threads I think taking Earl on next is dangerous, the lad is 20 and needs to develop.

Gavin Rees would be the easiest fight out of those you mentioned but again I don't think he is anywhere near ready for even that sort of fight.

He needs to dump his trainer Oliver Harrison because his defence still sucks and any world class pressure fighter would beat him imo.

Exactly, hence I think he still has much to learn.

Well if Pacquaio moves up to lightweight do you think if Khan get to a ranking in the WBC or another major belt what would the outcome be?

Of course! He has no chance whatsoever against Pac's firepower and workrate. Khan has some skills but he doesn't have power on Manny's level, not even close, and he'd have to really box to beat the Pinoy firecracker. Amir isn't ready for the top boys, not for a long way. He'll probably be kept off the boil until a weak champ takes over at lightweight and then he'll be quickly signed up. I can see him wearing a belt, but as of now it's a long way off. Let's concentrate on getting him a lonsdale belt first. If he can't beat Thaxton then he can forget about world championships.
