On Fire : Here we are in 34th street in Manhattan with the person whom is going to fight against Fernando Vargas Ricardo Mayorga. Ricardo, How is your training going?
El Matador : Well my training, really is going good, it is going excellent. I have exactly four and a half months of training, this time i don't want Vargas to give me any excuses the 23 of November, which falls on a Friday. I' going to knock him out, like i said i would. If he stands still in the first round, ill knock him out in the fist round. If he starts running ill knock him out in two to three.
On Fire : How much do you weigh right now?
El Matador : What?
On Fire : Can you tell us how much you weigh right now?
El Matador : Right now i weigh 168 pounds with all this cloths on.
On Fire : What do you think of Vargas saying that there was something wrong with his blood and because of it he couldn't fight?
El Matador : No No No. With all due respect for the public. Vargas is vulgar and irresponsible, with 11 days before the fight, which was the 8th of September, with only 11 days to go, he came and gave the pretense and excuse that he was sick with an allergy. That f4gg0t Vargas, that Mexican, whom is the shame of Mexico. Mexicans are warriors, if they don't have an arm they get in the ring and fight with the other, he is the shame of Mexico. He is irresponsible because he was weighing 189 pounds with only 15 days left , he knew he could not make 162 lbs.
On Fire : Do you think this time he will make the weight and will make any excuses?
El Matador : I hope he makes it, and if he does not make the weight, im going to give him the same pounds he could not make, ill give him the same pounds that he is when he gets in the ring. I started at 180 pounds, and im going to beat him.
On Fire : After you knock Vargas out like you say, who do you want to fight?
El Matador : Well i want to fight against the 154 lb champion, Vernon Forrest and whom ever else there is.
On Fire : You already beat Vernon Forrest twice, do you think he wants to fight with you again?
El Matador : Well if his mom tells him yes, I think he will say no. But if a good purse is offered to him he will want to fight with me. Actually, i came to New York to see Daniel Santos fight. I liked how he fought , he had a good victory against Rivera. I wanted Santos to win, honestly i wanted Santos to win, Because one time Rivera was afraid of me, he didn't want to fight with me.
On Fire : Also, today in Madison Square Garden, was Felix Trinidad, did you speak to him? What did he tell you?
El Matador : Of course, he is my friend, i spoke with him. He is going to fight Roy Jones at 170 pounds, and i told him, go down to 160 pounds, and give me an opportunity after i become champion at 154 pounds. Because i believe i deserve a rematch.
On Fire : What do you think of Oscar De La Hoya dressed like a woman?
El Matador : ****, i respect his decision. In reality i don't see him any differently because i know him well, to me he is the same person. But if thats his like, what he likes to do, I'm not saying he is a ****sexual but if he was, i have to respect it, thats how he sees himself, its his decision.
On Fire : What about Don King?
El Matador : Don King. First before i say anything, i want to thank God, and thank Don King. Thanks to God and Don King, I live well, my family lives well, i don't take a hungry step. I enjoy life, i am loving life, and he is the best promoter in the world. Whether you like him of not, the people that know boxing know he is #1 in the world. When that man dies i am going to be at his wake, i am going to be at his burial, and there will never be another in this world like Don King.
On Fire : Thanks you and good luck.
El Matador : No, thanks to all of you. I send salutations and respect for the people of Manhattan.Last edited by Famoso Matador; 10-07-2007, 02:51 PM.Comment

^Props!
It seems like Mayorga thinks very highly of himself, and maybe he's justified. I still see him possibly giving Forest problems again, and that's a fight I'd like to see. He didn't bring up 147 like he usually has been lately. Hopefully Vargas doesn't come in too fat come fight time..Comment
