Hatton Claims Mental Edge on Mayweather

Rickay Hatton claims to have gotten the better of Floyd Mayweather Jr. in their recent war of words. The two fighters exchanged unpleasantriess during the press tour to promote their Dec. 8 pay-per-view in Las Vegas. Mayweather threw a verbal barrage at Hatton during the tour, but instead of taking the bait, Hatton stayed calm and mocked Mayweather's insults. [details]

Hatton imo, is very insecure. He's been more vocal than Mayweather these days.

he prob does. The earmuff thing was hilarious and the bunny ears over mayweathers head was pretty funny. Floyd was all serious and i think hatton may have hurt his ego.

I agree. I'm a mayweather fan and I defended Hatton saying that he did not get mad or anything by floyd's antics. But after reading this I think he is making it out bigger then it is. Saying what he thinks that mayweather is thinking as if he really knows shows insecurity.

I didn't hear floyd talking about mental edge and who got to who. All floyd is doing is being natural. It's his style to think off as much as dirt of his opponents as possible. Part of it is promotion, part of it is real....him just being natural.

There was no strategy behind to get to Hatton.

one thing that is time tested and true, is when someone tries their hardest to get a rise out of you and you blow it off and ignore them, it makes them mad as hell, usually so mad it ****s with their head.

it's like when you were a kid and someone was messing with you and all you kept saying was " i know you are but what am i ? " and the next thing you know their freaking out trying to get you mad but its' ****ing with their head, good stuff if you ask me.

i think that mayweather isnt all that bent with the way hatton is handling his little childhood tactics, but i do think that it might raise some concern as to hatton might be well prepared for this fight not only physically but mentally and floyd although he might put up a front of not being bothered, i think he might be taking a deep look inside himself thinking that he is going to have to take hatton seriously. fighting hatton isnt going to be like fighting gatti, brusslles, etc.

Exactly. It's as if Hatton is trying to convince himself by saying the same thing over and over again. He's actually losing the battle by letting Floyd know what he's thinking. The more he talks, the more he buries himself. Mayweather mostly talks for the sake of talking, not expressing feelings (not these type).

lol @ him thinking that he's got to Mayweather...I doubt it, Floyd is a professional....I don't think any mental edge will bother him when it comes to the ring
