What ranking system are you talking about here? P4P should strictly be rated on fighting the best, and beating the best (obviously you're skills are going to be worldclass if you're beating the best fighters around you). In terms of HOF/ATG status...yeah excitement should have a lot to do with it. It's all about memorable fights.

I thought rankings and ATG/HOF **** should be judged by the same criteria... fighting/beating the best.

Hmm... well whatever, I would assume if you feel one should include excitement, I would assume you would feel the other should include it too.

Of course it should. Michael Jordan achieved greatness mostly because of excitment!

No, because if that were the case, Gatti would have been the p4p champ for almost 10 years..

Exaggerations again. The thread was about excitement as a factor, not the main factor. But then you were too dense to make that distinction.

If it doesn't count, imagine a slightly better version of Zahir Raheem dominating the boxing scene.

However, it shouldn't even be more than 20%. Otherwise, this won't be boxing anymore.

Assuming your talking about p4p rankings, then of course not, its abouot skill and level of opposition, excitement has nothing to do with either of those two things.
