HBO was thinking about Jumping on the Bandwagon last year when the UFC, was selling huge PPV's. They saw that showtime jumped on the wagon with EliteXC and they dident want to stay behind. But after this years Upsets and Subpar Numbers Hbo decided to dedicate itself more on its #1 Sport which has been boxing for about 35 years now.

It woudlent have worked anyways, HBO is all about championship fights, UFC ussually has those on PPV. I dont see HBO paying a bunch of money to the UFC hiring a commentating staff and Showing contenders fight on HBO.

Truth is UFC/MMA hasnt convinced HBO that they should Invest in a growing sport which hasnt shown its a fad or the next big thing.

        HBO backed away IMO.

If the UFC allowed the deal to fall through because of production they're ****ing ******. HBO puts on a much better show than the cheesy crap the UFC comes up with on it's own.
****ing A! Cause HBO's production is ****ing best in the game. Look waht they did with that ****** match-up featuring Mayweather and DLH. They 24/7th it forever and it payed off big.

I really love how Dana fashions himself as a tough guy.

From what I heard, Prod. was tight, but HBO wanted their own hosts. They wouldn't even accept Couture on commentary. While I'm not warm with the Goldie/Rogan team, there's not much to work with on commentary in MMA. The only guy relitvly free would have been Kevin Iole, who not only is incompetent, but eats whatever **** White shovels him.

BTW, Kevin should be glad there's secondary sources, because if there wasn't, that article would have made him totally irrelivant.
