Thaxton has a much better 5th round, and lands some nice shots. Stewart still boxing well. Could be either Thaxtons or an even round.
Thaxton starts 6th round well, but Stewart boxes excellently, catching Thaxton off balance and slightly wobbling him on one occasion. Stewart wins 6th.
Thaxton's throwing heavy hands, but his punches are missing or blocked. Stewart appears to have slowed a little, Thaxton seems to be slowly relaxing.

Thaxton starts the round boxing. Appears to be confusing Stewart now, landing a succesion of right hands. Dave Stewart is cut above the right eye. A line of blood runs along his face. Bad cut! Thaxton bobbing and weaving, moving like a lion at the sight of Stewart's blood, but Stewart throwing valiantly. Wobbles Thaxton! Thaxton stops the offense. Round over.
Thaxton starts well with a great right hand to Stewart's jaw. Stewart doesn't seem to be taking the distance well, tired and missing now. Eye bleeding once more. Thaxton coming on strong now, landing some straights. Stewart keeps up his body defense , but Thaxton being clever and picking his shots well.
Thaxton utilising his jab now, but can't get any hooks to land well, only grazing arms and shoulders. Stewart moving in to Thaxton, throwing hard straights. Thaxton moving around him, jabbing and hooking to the body where available. Stewart choosing his shots well though, catching Thaxton with a nice right hand. Thaxton moves through it, then backs off. Round ends with some sloppy shots.
Stewart's cut has been stemmed well. Thaxton working the body now, and switching to the head. Some hooks landing for Thaxton. Stewart throws nothing memorable for the first minute.
Stewart living off the jab, unable to reach in with the hard right. Stewart extremely low on energy, and looks dafaded and desperate. Nice uppercut by Thaxton, determined to win these last rounds. Stewart backs off as Thaxton moves forth ploughing against his arms with hooks.
Stewart trying to move the circle and keep Thaxton at bay. Huge punches from Thaxton bombards Stewart!! Stewart takes a knee. Slow to rise. Looks exhausted. Thaxton throws wild bombs! Hard body shot!
Stewart takes a second knee, rises, but the referee calls it.
Thaxton gives a very honourable interview, sat next to Stewart.
Thaxton admits he knew he needed the knockout because he was losing on points. He asks the British Board to rank Stewart as the number 1 contender, so they can have a rematch.
Otherwise, he calls to Katsidis claiming a fight between the two would be a definite 'classic'.
