    Pavlik vs. Roy??

My fellow boxingscene forum members, now for your entertainment and amusement...who would win between Roy vs. Pavlik. Roy being the bigger and faster man could catch Pavlik with a flurry and take him out early (he still has those hands), or the obvious may happen and Pavlik steamrolls the old, fossilized version of RJJ today.

I think Roy is done now.

      Pavlik crushes him.

Predicition: RJJ outboxes Pavlik and carries Pavlik throughout the rounds until he decides to end it by knocking out Pavlik. Pavlik is a great kid but far too slow for RJJ and believe me Roy is not going in there to knock out Pavlik like Taylor tried this weekend. Roy's far too smart of a fighter to get ****** in mentally like that. This is a no contest.

This is 2007 not 2000. Prime RJJ kicks his ass but this version would run nd tr and survive.

At this point id say Pavlik wins this, Kelly is a big puncher with power in both hands, historically thats who Roy has lost to. However Roy is in the junction of ressurrecting his career and if he can get by a smaller big puncher in Tito look for his comp to steadily get better. A fight with Pavlik at this point is not out of the question but Roy would first have to want it and then put his career back together to get it!

i say pavlik loses because he body wouldn't be able to handle the extra weight.

I think lately Roy is finally getting it in that thick head of his that he is getting older and not the same. The dangerous thing about him now is that he has finally learned to fight off the ropes. He has finally added a new dimension to his fight game now that he is older and realizes that the super-fast, evasive RJJ of old is not there anymore and know Roy has to do what he as to do to survive and hang with the younger cats. Roys been in there with big ****ers and I think he could withstand Pavlik's assault against the ropes and use those fast hands to catch the openings in Pavlik's D's to stun and hurt him like he did against Tony Hanshaw recently. Roy would take a beating in this fight, no doubt, but he could use his boxing skills, fast hands and power to catch Pavlik with something nasty and possibly KO him.

Even an old Roy is too much for Pavlik. Two years from now and Roy would still have a better than average chance at beating a straight up fighter like Pavlik IMO.

Roy will do what Bernard did to Tito in 2001...without question. Big ****ers always lose to the slick, quick boxers. Like I stated Pavlik is nice when fighters stay in his face...but Roy is not going to be in his face. Second Roy has been at 175 most of his career and been up to Heavyweight do you think Pavlik hits harder then those guys...get real. There is a reason for weight classes and believe me a few pounds makes a huge deal in a fight.
