After spending all morning defending Floyd from ******s who think that he's a coward/runner/not a HOFer I think it's time to contribute once more from the other side of this upcoming fight.
There's a lot of talk of how Ricky will beat Floyd, and it's warranted, after all Floyd is rated P4P number 1 in the world, and is still winning his fights. There are lots of theories as to how to beat Floyd but so far noone has asked the question how is Floyd going to beat Ricky Hatton, who is also P4P rated, undefeated and a tough nut to crack by all accounts. What is Floyd's gameplan going to be?
The obvious blueprint for this question is the Collazo fight. Collazo came closer to beating Hatton than anyone else, and he did it with sharp counterpunching, though it is generally accepted that Hatton was far from his best on that night. Collazo was also a southpaw, and this has always troubled the little mancunian. Kostya gave Hatton a good run for 11 rounds but it was a war of attrition and noone has beaten Hatton at that game to date. Urango may have done but Hatton's boxing was far too much for the big Columbian.
Do you think the key to beating Hatton is to make him back up? Is Floyd the man to do this? Or will Mayweather be best served using his legs and playing keep-away?
Please try and keep the BS to the minimum. Remember the first person to start their post with "lol" is the loser.
