Being a fighter doesn't automatically gain you respect.
Especially if you are not very good.
That's like respecting a person who repairs a roof.
Sure it is dangerous for him to go up there but if he doesn't fix the problem then why would you respect them?

      That's a pretty dumb analogy.

It is in the nature of boxing that some ppl win and some ppl lose, you should respect both. They are called fighters not winners for a reason.

On the other hand roof-repairing is necessary to be a roof repairer, so if you cannot do it, you are not even a roof repairer.

Good thread. I always respect boxers and what they do. I didnt realize until i started training the kind of committment they give to participate in this sport. And you right most people who disrespect boxers probably never so much as put on a boxing glove or hit a heavy bag.

Good point. But what I think he is trying to say is that dont disrepect a fighters skills if you yourself never participated. i mean you can give your opinion but dont criticize a boxers skill if you yourself can't do what they do.

            No it isn't actually.
Because you DO get fighters who CANNOT fight.
Same as you get Roofers who CANNOT repair Roofs.

I respect most professional boxers no doubt about that.
However I do have the right to criticise them.
              I pay my money.

yea, right, and they talk about boxing like they invented it. no ones opinion matters but theirs. i would LOVE to get in the ring with these trash talkers and see what they have to say then.
