I'd say Barrera. I actually kind of thought that's what happened back in January.

Marquez's fighting style isn't super reliant on his age and how much he has left. He is a great counterpuncher, who doesn't need to be enormously physical.

I thought Barrera deserved the decision, and I thought he had lost a bit more of his ability than Marquez at that point.

I think Barrera was definately better prime vs. prime.

I dont want to cut Marquez short. I think if they fought ten times, Marquez would win his share, but Barrera would win more.

              Prime Marquez.

Marquez in his prime had faster hands and would have been able to hang with barrera in the speed department and would have been a little more patient and avoided the mistakes he made in their real encounter.

Marquez would've beat him more convincingly in his prime, sad hes just getting the recognition at this age.

Marquez! When was the last time Marquez was ever dominated. Barrera got ****ed by Junior Jones, Pacman and he's had a few close ones. He's an all time great but his skill and his desire to get up from the canvas could never match Marquez's. Marquez is the greatest and most underrated Mexican fighter in a long time. He throws right uppercuts from long range without skipping with his right foot and actually scoring. Marquez's offensive repertoire looks like Whitaker's defensive repertoire. So much skill.

Marquez has always been a better boxer then Barrera. If they fight 10 times, I give the edge to Marquez 8 out of the 10. Im not saying Marquez is greater, which he is not. Just a bad style Match up for Barrera.
