Hi pal! Good to see ya again!

I won't knock your choice of Hagler. You're the type who puts more premium on power, eh?

The Filipino HOF, Flash Elorde, was reportedly a right-hander who was converted to southpaw. He was said to have fought orthodox in his early fights but was made to change his stance by Sarreal. I don't know that for sure... just heard it from people who were trying to explain why Elorde was able to knock out/ knock down a number of his opponents with his right hand.

Anyhow, I don't know that Elorde ever switched stances in the course of a fight. But then, I am familiar only with a handful of his bouts. Did he?

Speaking of southpaws, there have been several Filipino champs who were southpaws, weren't there? I can quickly recall Dodie Penalosa, Navarette, Bernabe Villacampo, Rene Barrientos, Ben Villaflor, Rolando Bohol...

In addition to Pacquiao and Elorde, of course.

Best to the Pinos at the Lounge, buddy!
