Trinidad: "De La Hoya and Hopkins Are Afraid"

"Always exciting, Trinidad is equally exciting with his responses. A true fighter doesn't hold back any punches in life, and the legendary Trinidad did not disappoint. Not only is Trinidad back, but he plans continuing after he fights another legend, Roy Jones Jr.

When you came out of retirement the last time, you made offers to both Hopkins and De La Hoya. Why did they say no?"

Felix Trinidad answered: (smiles) "Very simple. They are afraid. Very simple."

"Why do you feel De La Hoya ran from you in the last four rounds?"

Trinidad answered: "He knew that the only way he had any opportunity was running away from me. He did it from the very first round. It wasn’t just the last four. He did it for twelve rounds. Just running away from me. He knows that fighting any other way would only bring defeat as well. That’s why he will never have the courage to come back into the ring and fight me again."
I would watch De La Hoya vs. Trindidad.. Not bad.

I'm sure Hopkins is shaking in his boots..

For one, Tito is gonna get his head ripped off against Roy (unless he lands a huge shot) and I had De La Hoya winning the first bout, and with so much time off I dont see how he would do any better against Oscar now. And we all know what B-hop did to Tito the first time around, and it would only be worse now. Tito should focus on whats right in front of him, cause I dont think he can even beat Roy.

      That's on the money.

Trinidad can make a fight with De La Hoya regardless IMO. Even if/when Jones knocks his block off.

It would help considerably if Trinidad can get himself down in weight - which is the biggest question/challenge.

I don't have alot of faith in Jones myself.

He was still showing signs of being gun shy and passive during the Hanshaw fight. Slight improvement, but nothing to be proud of. Jones ran with it anyway. He's not sure of himself IMO.

Ya'll have no faith in the former P4P king. If he plays his cards right he could easily win an easy fight.

roy has a better shot at winning then tito no doubt about it but he ain't what he used to be,he's far from it. his heart ain't there, and heart is what trinidad has in bunches even if he's being fed a buffet of winky jabs or being dismantled by popkins.

lol tito back out of retirement... got to love him but he is the one that cries and retires after losses instead of going after rematches, not "old greedy" and b-hop
