Nice post. Given Hatton's style and abilities I'd say u may be right on. Haton is always in supreme condition so I'm sure he'll be ready to bring it. That and hes got a legion of fans behind him who he doesnt want to llet down so you know he'll bring heart to the table.

That said, I still see Hatton as a huge underdog, but I love a good upset!!

      every boxer has flaws...

      why?

      because they're human.

mayweather CAN be beat just like any other fighter can be beat...

mayweather can outbrawl anyone? i firmly disagree with that.

if mayweather were to get in the ring and stictly brawl with a true brawler (think in the styles of cotto and hatton) he would get (at the very least) knocked down.

      i say this because:

      A) Mayweather's power is at 130 and 135 pound weight divisons
      B) Mayweather's bread and butter is his boxing abilties and speed...mayweather is not known for brawling or power and if he was he wouldnt get called a "runner" all the time. he's not a brawler...he will only "Brawl" if he knows the fighter is weak or worn down and cant be hurt by him...

if mayweather went in and decided to strictly brawl cotto he would most likely get knocked out. cotto has that power (as does hatton).

but he wont do that. mayweather will box you and use his speed and wear you down. thats his style.

pressure is mayweather's flaw...i agree...castillo did that and in some people's opinions; won the fight.

mayweather didnt look very good against castillo.

fighters like hatton and cotto are the types that will put on pressure, wear you down with body shots, and eventually go head hunting in later rounds...

if hatton and cotto pressure mayweather the whole fight and go to the body early and repeatedly then they have a terrific chance of slowing mayweather down to their speed and going to work on him...

body punchers are what mayweather should avoid (seeing as how body punches slow you down). due to the fact he might find himself in danger of losing.

hatton is good but i like cotto better in the catergories of power and especially body punching (cotto is ONE OF...not thee...but one of the best body punchers around at the moment)...hatton and castillo are also great body punchers but cotto has them beat...

if mayweather continues to fight and cotto beats mosley mayweather will HAVE TO (it will be mandatory) fight cotto and if that happens its going to be a great fight.

cotto's chin may be suspect BUT he has one thing mayweather doesnt have...heart...mayweather lost his heart in recent years and now all he care about is fame and money...

obviously cotto doesnt (by giving mosley a bigger cut of the profits) and thats admirable that he does that to make the big fights happen.

Good post, Frank. But, I'm a little unclear. You think Floyd beats Hatton but loses to Cotto? If that's what you're saying, I'm not so sure I agree. But, I do think Cotto will beat Mosely (assuming he's clean of performance enhancing substances)(no low blow to Mosely, just the truth).

Mitchell and Corley?? lol ..oh well. God, Tszyu knocked Mitchell out twice, easily. Now, if you would have actually been able to say Tszyu, I would sit up and listen. But, for some reason that we'll never know, Floyd and Tszyu never met. Tszyu, the champion of LWW for a decade, and Floyd saying he was the best WW that ever lived. Go figure.

              Ant,

You are trying to explain that to guys who just started watching boxing in the past year. They have ONLY seen PBF against Baldo/DLH.

                    That's a wonderful quote. I dig Larry.

The funny thing is Castillo didn't even bring the kind of pressure Hatton brings. Castillo was harder to hit then Hatton at 135, I believe more skillful in a classic boxing sense but didnt bring the kind of herky jerky movements and speed that hatton brings. The foot speed, the elbows, the headbutts, the clinching, the lowblows. This guy does everything Castillo did but on a different level. He is a lion, Castillo is a snake.

Hatton is going to make Floyd work. If Floyd doesn't keep up with Hatton...he cant win. It's that simple.
