I'll probably take some heat for this but what does this "Interim Championship" or "Interim Champion" really mean? It's confused me for a while. Like in Samuel Peter's case being named Interim Champion, does that mean if he beats Mccline he will become the real WBC Heavyweight Champion or does he have to beat Mccline and then beat Maskaev whenever Maskaev is fit again to become the proper champion? If someone could clear this up for me I would be grateful!
