    lowering the cruiserweight limit.

lowering the cruiserweight limit.the lower divisions in boxing are separated by three and four pounds until the junior lightweight division and the division difference goes up in 5,6,7 and eight pounds.the point i'm trying to make is when you finally get to cruiserweight there is the possibility of there being a 24 pound difference. do you believe that's to much and they should lower the cruiserweight limit to say , 184 pounds?or should it stay the same? your thoughts would be appreciated.thanks.

I think its fine as it is.
The cruiserweight division is getting better right now.
The fighter are making weight at lhw and come to fight night at 185pounds and when fighters are around 200 they go up to heavyweight because of the money issues.

i think one of the lower weights should be eliminated altogether and a new higher weight class created. maybe a 190 pound limit and then a 210 pound limit and then heavyweight on top of that.

maybe i'm a classicist, but probably all the greatest heavyweights of all time would be crusierweights today, with the exception, of lewis, tyson, and foreman.

Super middleweight limit is at 168 while light heavy is at 175. Super mid has more pounds in between limit than light heavy even though light heavy is the heavier weight(hope i explain it right). I suggest making light heavy limit to 180. Cruiser limit will be 200. Also, the weight advantage by the bigger heavyweights against the smaller heavyweights. How about a super heavy division of 230 or more?

instead of adding a crusierweight division that's what they should've done.

Heavyweight division is regarded weak by now, a superheavyweight division would weaken it even more.
But you are right why 8 pounds between middle and supermiddle and only 7 pounds between supermiddle and lhw.

What's needed is to raise some division limits. The current weights are based on 19th Century standards. A 160lber is not a medium-sized man, and a 200 lber is not yet a 'heavy' man. Middleweight should be about 180, Heavy above about 225. That's only accounting for the average size of a man today as compared to about 1870.
