Can Kelly Pavlik go on and dominate the division for years to come.
I was surprised by the result, I thought Taylor would UD him. I hadn't seen a lot of Pavlik and the bits I had seen I just couldn't see him doing it. He isn't blessed with speed or the best boxing skills and to me even after watching the fight doesn't LOOK like he hits with great power but obvisouly I'm wrong there because of the way he KO'd Taylor. I like Pavlik alot, hes a good honest pro and seems like a nice genuine guy and I got it completely wrong. Whether he'll dominate the division is another question. There doesn't seem much competition other than Winky Wright and Arthur Abraham, Pavlik has already beaten the best of the rest.

I thought his speed looked good vs Taylor. He was sure droppin the right on him fast enough. Surprisingly, I thought his skill level was also up to par. Manny Steward made these exact points at the post-fight press conference. He said he was surpised at the skill level of Pavlik and also did'nt expect him to be as fast as he was. Just watch the jab contest.

The fact was that Taylor showed great chin, but when Pavlik landed the right hand squarely in the 7th, it was all over. Don't be fooled, Pavlik is the hardest hitting middleweight in the world. When he gets full extention on that right hand, it can be scarey if it lands clean.

Don't get me wrong I don't hate Pavlik I just don't see what the hype is about. He doesn't look anything special, and while being powerful it's deceptive. I'd pick a lot of past champions to beat him including Hagler,Duran,SRL,Hearns,Nunn,RJJ,Toney,Benn and Eubank.
