    Non-white boxing fans fail to realize that the white race is the most war-like race on the planet. Virtually every major war in ancient and recent history is the doing of the white race. Blacks, although probably physically the strongest of all races, is the least war-like. The European race in general just likes combat, it's in their genes. Let us look at the following fighters you mentioned Addison and their backgrounds in a historical perspective;

    Ricky Hatton-Son of the former British Empire. The English have set an indelible mark upon the historical landscape. We basically speak their language here in the states because they were so good at WAR.

    Michael Katsidis-A Hellene (Greek). The Greeks basically invented European warfare. Alexander the Great conquered the known world and brought European culture to the forefront of humanity.

    Joe Calzaghe-A Roman, nuff said.

    Wlad-A Ukrainian. Do you people know how freaking tough the Ukrainians are? Countless wars were fought over the "bread-basket of Europe" due to its fertile wheat fields. This produced one tough, war-like people.

    In short, it's no surprise that White fighters are able to rise to the pinnacle of the sport of boxing. It's in their genes in the first place and it's just that the proper socio-economic reasons have also come into play in conjunction with physiological ones to allow the ascent as of late.

    Now before everyone starts berating me for this hypothetical post, please know that I do consider the above to be just one far-off take on Addison's inquiry as to why White fighters are becoming prominent as of late.

          And it holds. Absolute truth in those words.

          Triumphant.

            Hunh? I assume you meant ass. Or is that your brain. I don't have the FOGGIEST idea. Hah! That was a good one.

            Seriously, what does "foggy" mean and why?

              your most on point with this overly scientfic thread. It's just a mentality, a disposition, combat instinct.

              Calzaghe's family is from the Italian penninsula but that doesn't mean he's off Roman lineage. Those are entirely separate civilzations.

                  Contemporary Italians are for the most part the direct descendants of the Ancient Romans. Indeed Italians today have toned down their toughness a bit, but it doesn't change the fact that Calzaghe's history and most likely lineage traces back to those tough Romans. :-D

                      I know for a fact that these traits are learned culturally.. I could pull out my notes and site many refrences.. If you would like I could give you the names of many psychologists and anthropologists that study this field and research they have done.. I'm not taking Sociology, Anthropolgy, Philosophy and Psychology classes for no reason.
