Am I The Only One Who Thinks The Fight Was Overrated?

I hear all these threads talking about how great the fight was and so on but it wasnt that great to me. It was a good solid fight but there was nothing real special about it.

I thought round 1 was awesome and had alot of volume and action to it. After that the fight wasnt that great except for the 2 knock downs. The ending was also a little anti climatic as it kind of seem to come from nowhwere but it wasnt flashy either.

For the most part, the fight actually was just solid to boring like alot of Pavlik's fights are. Its crazy because he's a all action fighter but he's not really exciting at all. I think its the way he's kind of like a slower heavy hand guy. Both this fight & Miranda's fight was great early but then the fight settles into a groove where both guys are throwing but its not exciting. In both fights it also seems like all the fighters tire by like round 3 and then they keep fighting but its not at a high pace or with a ton of skill.

Pavlik even says that he throws alot of punches even when he gets tired. Thats him. He's tired by like round 3 but he still throws punches. Still, you can see the tiredness and the fight is nowhwere near as good from that point on. The Winky-Taylor fight was much more exciting. I still havent seen the Berto fight except for pieces of it but even that fight seemed better from the short stuff I watched. You could say that the Taylor fight was closer which makes it better but it still doesnt make it exciting. After round 2, the fight settled into a long lull of just solid boxing with no steam to it

Always has to be one downer in every situation. If you didn't like that fight you aren't cut out to be a boxing fan. You should be following ballet. There is tons of skill and grace in that 'sport', chap.

        it was a great fight.

the comparisons to hagler-hearns were fair.

in fact this was better because hagler-hearns because it was longer and closer.

It was the drama that added quality to the fight. Not the boxing/fighting part.
It was a very dramatic fight that's why people loved it.

Taylor/Wright, was a draw. This fight had a definitive winner. I'm not saying that that is proof of a better fight, or even a good fight, but it's a good piece of evidence.

Also, in this fight, there was a sense of, it can end at any time. That's excitement.

umm yes, you are the only one. You think Taylor/Wright was more exciting? Give me a ****ing break dude. I thought that was a good fight but I wasn't jumping out of my seat for JT/WW like I was this passed saturday night.

The two fighters stood toe to toe and pounded the piss out of each other and the result was a KO victory.

No offense but it sounds like you're just pissed off because JT got KTFO.

Some people will never be satisfied.

1st off clowns, I am not a Taylor fan at all. I thought he would win but didnt have a intrest either way. I like both guys but could care less if either of them won or loss a fight. I didnt say that it wasnt a good fight. It was a good fight. My point is that it wasnt no way near as exciting as people make it out to be. After the 1st two rounds it was really slow paced from there on with both guys pretty fatigued.

Now you can say like that one guy said who thought that the side stuff added to it and made it great but if your just talking about the fight itself then it wasnt all that which people make it out to be
